Hogan Media Relations* (HMR) is an independent, media relations/publicity company specializing in gaining exposure for Artists and Music Industry Professionals. The goal of Hogan Media Relations is to ensure the Artist is, not only, having their music heard, but is also gaining the necessary exposure they deserve to move their career forward. Over the past two years Josh Hogan has had one goal in mind, to expose the seedy underbelly of the East Coast Music scene. Hogan started Diminished Fifth Records (D5R) in July 2006 launching the label to release his band's debut, Orchid's Curse - 'Goodbye is when the Casket Closes'. Since the label's launch D5R has grown infectiously and is now about to release its seventh album this winter. The label has proudly adopted the slogan 'Supporting East Coast Metal'.

With the label firmly planted Hogan branched out into new territory and in November 2007 launched, Horns High Online Magazine, a free online magazine which features News, Reviews, Interviews and more... again targeting the louder styles of music in Canada's East Coast and also showcasing bands which tour in the region.

Having been praised by musicians and music fans for his ability to get his Artists recognized and heard on regional, national, and international levels the lightning, once again, struck! That very spark created Hogan Media Relations, a full service media relations company whose purpose is to assist bands outside of the D5R Roster so they can gain the exposure they need to have their music heard.

Other notable accomplishments include the petitioning and lobbying of the East Coast Music Association to recognize 'Loud' music and include the genre in their annual awards weekend. This process began with co-hosting the first 'Heavy Music Showcase' at the 2008 ECMA's in Fredericton, NB and it was recently announced that effective in the 2009 East Coast Music Awards there would now be a category for 'Loud Recording of the Year'. Hogan was also asked to host the 1st annual 'Diminished Fifth Records Heavy Music Showcase' at the 2008 Halifax Pop Explosion which was a great success packing the intimate venue with four bands which embodied the variety of the East Coast's heavy music scene.
